Before the 2021 Astroworld music festival where 10 concertgoers died from compression asphyxia during a crowd surge, court documents revealed that the festival's safety head had raised concerns about overcrowding just ten days before the event. The documents indicated that organizers thought they could fit 50,000 people in front of the stage when the area was designed for only 34,500.
