Benchmark U.S. crude oil for June delivery dropped to $81.93 per barrel, Brent crude fell to $87.86 per barrel, gold decreased to $2,302.90 per ounce, silver dipped to $26.65 per ounce, and copper fell to $4.56 per pound. Meanwhile, the dollar strengthened to 157.70 yen and the euro weakened to $1.0678.
