Published: 09 April 2024 at 06:13

Science

March 2023 marked the warmest March on record with an average global temperature of 14.14 degrees Celsius, surpassing the previous record by a tenth of a degree. This tenth consecutive month of historic heat was 1.68 degrees Celsius hotter than the average for 1850-1900. The primary cause of this heat was attributed to greenhouse gas emissions from human activities. Additionally, ocean surface temperatures also reached a new high in March, setting a global record.
