Ford Motor Co. will delay the release of new electric pickup trucks and a large electric SUV due to slowing U.S. electric vehicle sales growth. The electric pickup is postponed until 2026, and the large electric SUV is delayed until 2027. Meanwhile, U.S. electric vehicle sales growth slowed to 2.7% in the first quarter of the year. Ford expects losses for its electric vehicle unit to increase this year while hybrid sales have been rising.

California-based electric vehicle startup Fisker has reduced the prices of its 2023 Ocean electric SUV lineup by tens of thousands of dollars after a potential deal with another automaker fell through, leading to bankruptcy concerns. The price cuts include the 2023 Ocean Extreme trim from $61,499 to $37,499, the Ultra trim from $52,999 to $34,999, and the Sport trim from $38,999 to $24,999.
