A portrait by Gustav Klimt, believed to be one of his final works, sold for $32 million, falling within its pre-auction estimate of $30 million to $50 million. The Portrait of Fraulein Lieser was rediscovered after being missing for almost a century and was privately owned by an Austrian citizen. It depicts a member of a wealthy Austrian Jewish family, possibly commissioned by either Adolf Lieser for his daughter Margarethe Constance or by Justus Lieser's wife Lilly for one of their daughters.
