Germany decriminalises cannabis possession and home cultivation

Published: 01 April 2024 at 04:27

Health

Germany has passed a new law decriminalising cannabis possession and home cultivation, allowing adults to possess up to 25g in public, hold 50g at home, and grow up to three plants. This change in classification from a narcotic to a prescription drug aims to reduce prosecutions and stigma, with private cannabis clubs able to supply members. Restrictions include age limits and prohibitions on smoking near certain areas like playgrounds and sports centres.
