Joseph Parker defeated Zhilei Zhang via majority decision to claim the WBO interim heavyweight title in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Despite being knocked down twice, Parker outboxed Zhang for large stretches of the bout, securing a shocking turnaround in his career after recent wins over top heavyweight contenders. Zhang will have a rematch opportunity due to the clause in the contract. In another bout on the Anthony Joshua vs Francis Ngannou card, Israil Madrimov captured the vacant WBA junior middleweight title with a fifth-round stoppage of Magomed Kurbanov.
