Former President of Honduras, Juan Orlando Hernandez, was convicted in New York on charges of conspiring with drug traffickers, aiding cocaine importation into the United States, and using his military and police force for trafficking purposes. He served two terms as Honduras\' president and was extradited to the U.S. after being arrested at his home in Tegucigalpa. U.S. prosecutors accused him of collaborating with drug traffickers since 2004, taking bribes, and involvement in drug-related activities despite denying accepting bribes personally.
