The Indian government has taken strong action against agents who duped Indian citizens into working with the Russian Army, with at least two Indian citizens killed in the war. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has busted a human trafficking network luring Indians through social media for jobs in Russia, with about 35 victims identified. Indian nationals were trained for combat roles and deployed in the Russia-Ukraine war zone against their wishes. Indian authorities are working to secure the release of around 20 Indian nationals from the Russian army.
