Lizzo Quits Music Industry Due to Online Ridicule

US popstar Lizzo, real name Melissa Viviane Jefferson, announced on Instagram that she is quitting the music industry due to relentless ridicule online about her looks and character. The decision follows a lawsuit by former dancers and criticism for headlining a fundraiser for President Joe Biden amidst allegations.

The singer, 35, and the comedian, 35, looked loved-up as they left the star-studded event at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills. Lizzo - real name is Melissa Viviane Jefferson - dressed to impress for the occasion in a strapless brown tulle minidress as she let her hair down with the A-list. The About Damn Time singer put on a sultry display in the sexy ruched number which featured a long sheer skirt and a matching brown cape shawl. Born in Detroit, Michigan, she moved to Houston, Texas, with her family at the age of ten. After college, she moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota, where she began her recording career in hip hop music.
