Manuel Rivera, 43, of Sayreville, New Jersey, has been charged with aggravated arson after deliberately setting a car on fire with his 9-year-old son inside following a domestic dispute. The boy\'s body was found in the burning vehicle, and Rivera was discovered with burns and a self-inflicted wound near Sayreville War Memorial High School.
Ex-convict Guy Rivera, wounded in a deadly exchange that killed Officer Jonathan Diller, was charged with murder, attempted murder, and weapon possession. Rivera was in a car at a bus stop when Diller was shot. The driver, Lindy Jones, was also arrested. Rivera has 21 prior arrests and was on parole. Separately, a 19-year-old armed with scissors was shot by police in Queens after his mother called 911 during a mental health crisis. The incident occurred close to Diller\'s shooting location.

The driver of the car, Lindy Jones, with a history of arrests, has not been charged in the case. Mayor Eric Adams expressed the city\'s pain at the loss of one of their officers.
