China has announced the decision to lift steep tariffs on Australian wine, which were increased to over 200% in 2020 during a diplomatic dispute. The tariffs, part of a series of trade barriers, have been lifted as relations between the two countries improve. Australian wine producers, previously heavily impacted, will now benefit from the removal of these tariffs. The Chinese Ministry of Commerce stated that the tariffs are no longer necessary due to changes in the wine market. Before the tariffs, Australian wines had a 14% tariff advantage over other nations\' wines in China.
