Jeff Iorg, the president of Gateway Seminary, has been elected as the first permanent leader of the Southern Baptist Convention\'s Executive Committee in almost two-and-a-half years. He will start his new role on May 13 after previously overseeing the relocation of the seminary\'s main campus from the San Francisco area to Ontario, California. Iorg stated his gratitude for the denomination and his history with Southern Baptists during a recent news conference.
