DoorDash is partnering with Alphabets Wing to introduce a drone delivery pilot program in the US, starting in Christiansburg, Virginia with Wendys. Deliveries will reach homes within 2.5 miles of the Wendys location, requiring a 2-meter clearing for landing. Orders should arrive within 10 to 30 minutes, with drones traveling at 65mph. Eligible menu items can be delivered, with up to three drones deployed for larger orders. The program aims to offer efficient, sustainable, and convenient delivery options, expanding to more US cities in the future.
