The UK\'s competition watchdog, the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), is launching a formal phase 2 investigation into the proposed 15 billion merger between Vodafone and Three UK. Concerns include possible higher prices for consumers and reduced investment in UK mobile networks. The CMA believes that reducing the number of mobile network operators from four to three could lead to less competition, resulting in higher prices and decreased service quality for customers. Vodafone and Three have been given five days to address these concerns before a deeper investigation is launched.
