During the SEC Tournament final, Florida Gators center Micah Handlogten broke his leg while going for a rebound, leading to him being stretchered off the floor and taken to the hospital. The 7-foot-1 sophomore had transferred to Florida from Marshall and was averaging 5.5 points and 7.1 rebounds per game this season. Despite his limited scoring contribution, he excelled in rebounding. Auburn won the game 86-67, with Johni Broome leading with 19 points and 11 rebounds.
