Published: 17 March 2024 at 04:42

Tennis

World number one Novak Djokovic announced his decision to skip the Miami Open following his surprising loss to world number 123 Luca Nardi in the third round of the BNP Paribas Open. Djokovic cited the need to balance his private and professional schedule at this stage of his career. Nardi, a 20-year-old Italian, became the lowest-ranked player to defeat Djokovic in a Grand Slam or ATP Masters 1000 event. Djokovic, a six-time champion in Miami, has not won a title in 2024 and will not be competing in the upcoming tournament.
