Jeremy Miles and Vaughan Gething are competing to become the next first minister of Wales, succeeding Mark Drakeford, with Gething aiming to be the country\'s first Black first minister and Miles the first openly gay leader. The winner will be the fifth leader of Wales since the Senedd was established in 1999. Labour members and affiliates participated in the vote, with Gething backed by large unions and Lord Kinnock, and Miles supported by Labour members of the Senedd.
