Australian computer scientist Craig Wright, who has claimed to be the inventor of Bitcoin since 2016, was ruled by the UK High Court not to be the pseudonymous Satoshi Nakamoto, the creator of Bitcoin. The case was brought by the Crypto Open Patent Alliance (COPA) to stop Wright from suing Bitcoin developers. The judge, Mr Justice Mellor, stated that Wright did not invent Bitcoin and would provide a full written judgment later. This ruling impacts pending lawsuits where Wright claimed intellectual property rights to Bitcoin.
