Japan\'s Sapporo High Court deems the country\'s ban on same-sex marriage unconstitutional, urging the government to act urgently. The Tokyo District Court also made a similar ruling, although it doesn\'t overturn the current civil union law defining marriage as between a man and a woman. Japan, the only G7 nation that excludes same-sex couples from marriage, faces growing public support for marriage equality despite opposition from the conservative Liberal Democratic Party.
