Polio survivor known as \'Polio Paul\' dies at 78 after living in iron lung for 70 years

Paul Alexander, also known as \'Polio Paul,\' contracted polio at the age of six in 1952, leaving him paralysed from the neck down. He spent over 70 years in an iron lung, becoming a lawyer, author, and inspiring people worldwide. His brother expressed gratitude for the support received through a fundraiser, allowing Paul to live his last years stress-free. Paul learned to communicate by tapping on a keyboard and wrote a book about his life. Despite health challenges, he continued to inspire many until his passing.
