During Alaskas annual Iditarod sled dog race, two dogs named Bog and George died over the weekend, renewing calls to end the 1,000-mile competition. Despite efforts to revive them, both dogs collapsed and passed away at different points on the trail. PETA has criticized the race, claiming over 150 dogs have died since 1973. Mushers Hunter Keefe and Issac Teaford, who are fairly inexperienced, voluntarily withdrew from the race after the incidents.
