Haiti\'s Prime Minister Ariel Henry, viewed as corrupt, resigned after an emergency CARICOM summit on the country\'s crisis of gang-led violence and postponed elections. A transitional council will be established and an interim prime minister named. Gang leader Jimmy Cherizier\'s threats of civil war if Henry didn\'t step down led to the resignation. The summit, attended by CARICOM leaders and US Secretary of State Blinken, aimed to restore stability in Haiti, with the US pledging $100m for a UN-backed force and $30m in humanitarian aid.
