Airbnb has announced a new policy banning the use of indoor security cameras in all listings, effective April 30th. Previously, hosts were allowed cameras in common areas, but not in bedrooms or bathrooms. Now, all indoor cameras are prohibited to prioritize renter privacy. The policy also includes rules for outdoor cameras and noise decibel monitors. Hosts must disclose outdoor camera locations and noise monitors, which can only be in common areas. The change comes after reports of hidden cameras, aiming to provide clarity and peace of mind for guests. Hosts have until April 30th to comply or risk removal from the platform.
