Politics

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced the dismissal of the country\'s top military commander, General Valerii Zaluzhnyi, in the wake of tensions between them and Ukraine\'s failure to counter Russia\'s invasion. Zaluzhnyi\'s replacement will be Oleksandr Syrskyi, the Commander of Ukrainian Land Forces. Differences between Zelensky and Zaluzhnyi had been growing, particularly after Zaluzhnyi commented on the war reaching a stalemate and warned of devastating losses and destruction. Zelensky\'s decision comes as Ukraine faces a renewed Russian onslaught, resource shortages, and stalled US aid.
