At least 70 people were killed and 280 wounded in Gaza City as Palestinians rushed for humanitarian aid trucks. The situation led to a stampede which resulted in numerous casualties. The Israeli military stated that most deaths were due to the stampede as residents looted supplies, with only a few civilians injured by Israeli forces\' gunfire during the delivery. The incident occurred at the al-Nabusi roundabout in the northern part of Gaza City, overwhelming medical services with a shortage of ambulances to transport the dead and injured.
