Over 70,000 AT&T customers in the United States experienced cellular outages on Thursday morning, with phones displaying SOS in the status bar, indicating no service except for emergency calls. The cause of the outage is unknown, affecting AT&T Mobility users primarily in cities like Houston, Atlanta, Miami, Chicago, and others. Other carriers like Cricket Mobile, Verizon, and T-Mobile also reported outages, with FirstNet for first responders impacted. AT&T\'s wifi services remained largely unaffected. T-Mobile had a similar outage last year due to a third-party fiber interruption issue.
