Joshua Powell, a former top executive at the National Rifle Association (NRA), has admitted wrongdoing and agreed to pay $100,000 on the eve of a civil corruption trial. This comes as NRA CEO Wayne LaPierre announced his resignation after over three decades with the organization. The settlement confirms allegations of financial corruption within the NRA, with accusations of misusing over $64 million in cash donated by gun owners. Powell, who was head of operations and chief of staff to LaPierre, has become a critic of the NRAs fundraising tactics and published a tell-all book in 2020.
