Tesla is recalling over 1.6 million electric vehicles in China due to software issues that pose safety risks while driving. The recall will be conducted through remote over-the-air updates and includes Model S, Model X, Model 3, and Model Y vehicles made between August 26, 2014, and December 20, 2023. The software issues involve problems with assisted driving functions and door-locking systems. The recall is necessary because drivers may misuse the level two combined assisted driving function, increasing the risk of vehicle collision. Tesla is also recalling 7,538 imported vehicles to fix a problem with door unlock logic controls.
