Oscar Pistorius, the former Paralympic champion, will be released from prison on parole nearly 11 years after murdering his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp. Pistorius shot Steenkamp in 2013, claiming he mistook her for an intruder. He was initially convicted of culpable homicide but later found guilty of murder. His parole will last until December 2029, during which he will be supervised by a correctional services official and attend therapy for anger and gender-based violence issues. Pistorius will also do community service. Steenkamps mother expressed her disbelief in Pistorius claim and questioned his rehabilitation.
