Man armed with crossbow shot dead by police in southeast London

A man in his 30s, armed with weapons including a crossbow, was shot dead by police in southeast London after attempting to enter a property and threatening residents inside. Armed officers were called to the scene and discharged a firearm when the man got inside the property. Two people in the house suffered minor injuries. The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) has launched an investigation into the incident. Fatal police shootings in the UK are relatively rare.
