Charles Littlejohn, a former IRS consultant, has been sentenced to five years in prison for leaking former President Donald Trump\'s tax returns and the filings of thousands of other wealthy individuals to the news media. The district court judge, Ana Reyes, agreed with the Justice Department that Littlejohn\'s actions were egregious crimes. Reyes emphasized that targeting the sitting president and his office is an attack on democracy and our constitutional system of government. Littlejohn\'s lawyers had requested leniency, but the judge decided on the maximum statutory sentence. The Justice Department praised the judge\'s decision as a strong message against the violation of laws protecting sensitive tax information.
