Cardell Hayes has been found guilty of manslaughter for shooting and killing former New Orleans Saints player Will Smith in a traffic crash almost eight years ago. Hayes could face up to 40 years in prison for the conviction. He was also acquitted of attempted manslaughter for the shooting of Smith\'s wife, Racquel, in the same incident. The jury deliberated for over four hours before reaching a verdict. Hayes had previously been convicted in 2016, but the conviction was overturned due to nonunanimous verdicts.
