Dexter Scott King, the youngest son of Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King, died at the age of 62 after battling prostate cancer. Dexter King, named after the Dexter Avenue Baptist Church where his father served as a pastor, dedicated his adult life to preserving his father\'s legacy and protecting the King family\'s intellectual property. He served as chairman of the King Center in Atlanta and was president of the King estate. Dexter\'s death follows the passing of his mother Coretta Scott King in 2006 and his sister Yolanda King in 2007.
