UK announces new military aid package for Ukraine

UK Chancellor Rishi Sunak has announced a new package of military aid, security assurances, and humanitarian support for Ukraine. The package includes intelligence sharing, cyber security, medical and military training, and defence industrial cooperation. The UK will provide £2.5 billion in military aid to Ukraine in 2024-25, including long-range missiles, air defence systems, artillery ammunition, and maritime security. The UK will also contribute £200 million to procure and produce thousands of military drones, making it the largest delivery of drones to Ukraine from any nation. The agreement comes as Ukraine seeks more support from Western allies to counter Russian forces.
