Parmod Kalia, a former subpostmaster, revealed the devastating impact of being wrongly accused of stealing thousands of pounds from the Post Office which left him isolated from his family and led him to attempt suicide. His family did not believe him until they watched the ITV drama about the scandal. Parmod lost 22 years of his life and suffered mental breakdowns and shame in the community. His marriage also broke down as a result.
