Russia has launched fresh airstrikes on Ukraines biggest cities in retaliation to alleged shelling of the Russian border city of Belgorod by Kyiv. Ukrainian air defense systems engaged in repelling Russias drone attack. The scale of the attack is unclear. In Kharkiv, a drone attack hit residential buildings, causing fires. Russia requested a United Nations Security Council meeting to discuss the shelling of Belgorod. Images of Belgorod showed damaged buildings and cars on fire. Earlier, Russia reported shooting down 32 Ukrainian drones over several regions.
