Sam Bankman-Fried, the former billionaire convicted of stealing from customers of his bankrupt cryptocurrency exchange FTX, will not face a second trial on charges including campaign finance violations, according to prosecutors. They stated that the strong public interest in a prompt resolution of the case outweighed the benefits of a second trial. Bankman-Frieds sentencing on 28th March is expected to include orders of forfeiture and restitution for his victims. Prosecutors noted that evidence regarding the dropped charges had been presented during his first trial, which resulted in his conviction on fraud and conspiracy charges.
