Manchester United confirms sale of 25% stake to billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe

Manchester United Football Club will confirm the sale of a 25% stake to billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who will invest $300m into the club for infrastructure development. The deal, worth $1.5bn, will also see Sir Jim nominate two representatives to join the United board. The sale will bring an end to 13 months of talks and is expected to be approved by the Premier League in six to eight weeks. The Glazer family, which has controlled the club since 2005, will also sell 25% of their B-shares to Sir Jim.
